'Ring of Fire' Will Continue to Attract Upper Midwest Storms

Current surface analysis shows a large ridge of high pressure in the eastern US. This high pressure area creates a 'Ring of Fire' situation, where storms circle around the upper side of the ridge. For however long the ridge stays, low pressure systems continue to bombard the areas right around the ridge.

This is happening a lot with the Minnesota/Wisconsin areas. We see a string of low pressure systems extending from the south central Plains into the upper Midwest, making a circle around the high pressure ridge located in the East.
A progressing cold front will push the ridge away and cool down temperatures across the very hot eastern half of the country.
