Rest of Afternoon Tornado Outlook

Our in-house weather model is showing the tornado threat for the rest of this evening to reside mainly across Kentucky and Tennessee. What I find startling is that our in-house model is indicating an area of pink in central Tennessee, indicating the risk of stronger tornadoes is present into the rest of this afternoon. After the afternoon storms, everything should quickly diminish into the night.

Your "in-house model." Right.

Not exactly a model, but definitely our in-house computed forecast.

The map is accurate. That is what counts. Supercells continue to wreak havoc in KY, TN, AL, and other areas. I am expecting 70-100 tornadoes from this outbreak. This one has just been bad. The scariest thing with the storms that I have noted is the speed. Manyu have been moving at speeds over 55mph and some at 75 mph. This gives people no time to prepare. Rough day and rough night ahead.

Poor KY is COVERED with TORNDO WARNINGS. Folks, stay safe. This is just brutal. Sorm chasers and spotters will be busy helping people tonight and tomorrow.

Lots of hook echoes are clearly visible on radar in KY.

There is a vicious pack of tornadic supercells going through KY right now. These are very dangerous storms. We may have as many as 125 tornadoes.

Andrew, this has been a rough day. I know you have been busy all day. Any cells really catch you off guard. The Nashville and Chattanooga cells really shocked me. This has been a really rough day. The scary thing that I note is that in just a few days the same areas crushed by tornadoes, could see snow. Euro wants to bring another cold blast. Wild.

Where's your severe wx chat?

Hello Andrew. Torndoes in Kentucky and snow in Michigan and other areas in the North-Central region of the country. Are you getting snow? A very interesting spring storm this has been.

Thankfully, the tornado threat is starting to wind down. That doesn't mean that there won't be any though. There still will be severe t-storms and, yes, tornadoes. Storms are becoming more linear and are weakening due to the sun heading down.
